The "Deed" is Done

The only three hours of decent weather this weekend extended from an hour before through and hour after the ceremony. I may have used up a decades worth of getting prayers answered on that one. This is what it looked like as the bride and groom were leaving the reception. Everyone seemed to have a good enough time that even a nameless aging curmudgeon will admit it was worth all the effort it took.

The bride's parents and their dogs are looking forward to a return for what passes for normalcy these days. Tomorrow we return to our regular programming in My Minnesota.

Here's one of the pieces I wrote to help celebrate the day:

A Blessing for Your Life Together

John Harrington

May you always be good to each other
May you always be good for each other
May your one and your one always equal one

May your home always be together
And your hearth always welcome others
And you be welcome in others’ hearts

When trouble arises, as it will,
May you meet it surrounded
By the strength of love and friends

May the life you create always bring comfort
And shelter and food and fun
And the satisfaction of work well done

May you enjoy each other always
May you always have enough
May you live long and prosper
No matter how life gets tough
