Today is the day we used to celebrate only as Columbus Day. Now, in many places, we celebrate today as Indigenous People's Day and, in some places, both are celebrated. Here are some links to resources to help celebrate and become educated about the day.

My personal celebration of this day will take me to Birchbark Books one day this week. There I will purchase a copy of Joy Harjo's Conflict Resolution for Holy Beings: Poems. I've been reading her works for years and was delighted when I learned that she recently won the Academy of American Poets Wallace Stevens Award. Anyone who looks around these days knows the world needs to get lots better at conflict resolution. Maybe as one way to become holy?
