Bear with me!

Have you ever heard the question "Does a bear shit in the woods?" The real answer is "not always." Sometimes, at night, one of these

will climb onto your deck looking for one of these, and, upon discovering

that you've removed the bird feeder so as not to attract bears, will leave one of these to express displeasure. However, you now also have clue that somewhere in the neighborhood, there's a crop or two of berries to be found for identification and potential foraging.

My Brother’s Bear

By Bruce Lansky

My baby brother has a bear
that travels with him everywhere.
He never lets the bear from sight.
He hugs it in his crib at night.
And when my brother’s diaper smells,
the name of the bear is what he yells—
which is a clever thing to do
because my brother named it Pooh.
