Rainy day people

We had a visitor this morning, first noticed in the midst of a brief downpour. S/he was trying to take cover to avoid getting pelted on. One option under the forsythia bush didn’t do it, nor did the pine tree . Finally, s/he hunkered down in the tall grass to wait out the rain and hope that mom would show up. We presume our visitor was the fawn who was with a doe ten days or so ago visiting the same wet spot area in the back yard.

After a while, we had to step away from the window to feed and walk the dogs. When we returned the fawn was no where in sight, nor did we ever see the doe. As all too often happens these days, we have no idea what’s going on. We’ll keep our eyes open, hope for the best and report back here when and if we learn anything.

If every rainy day were as interesting as this one, we’d have many fewer complaints about the rain.

Rainy Day People

By Gordon Lightfoot

Rainy day people
Always seem to know when it's time to call
Rainy day people don't talk
They just listen till they've heard it all
Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell 'ya
They've been down like you
Rainy day people
Don't mind if you cry on a tear or two

If you get lonely
All you really need is that rainy day love
Rainy day people
All know there's no sorrow they can't rise above
Rainy day lovers don't love any others
That would not be kind
Rainy day people
All know how it hangs on a piece of mind

Rainy day lovers don't lie when they tell you
They've been down there too
Rainy day people
Don't mind if you cry on a tear or two

Rainy day people
Always seem to know when you're feeling blue
High stepping strutters
Who land in the gutters sometime need one too
Take it or leave it or try to believe it
If you've been down too long
Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside
They just pass it on
Rainy day lovers don't hide love inside
They just pass it on

Thanks for visiting. Come again when you can.
Please be kind to each other while you can.
